Biography

When Ben Hyne ruptured his ACL in the 2017 NRC season, being part of the Brumbies squad for this season was far from a certainty. Given the chance to rehab and improve, Hyne returns in 2019.

It’s clear to see why Ben was given the chance to prove himself. Hyne is a bruising back-row, who’s an excellent lineout operator. In his limited appearances for the Brumbies, Hyne has excelled.

If not playing Super Rugby, Hyne does a dutiful job playing with the Tuggeranong Vikings in the Griffin Legal John I Dent Cup and is known for his hardline style and leadership qualities.

It’s a credit to Ben that he fought for his Super Rugby future, working non-stop on healing his knee with the Brumbies staff and ending 2018 as skipper of the Canberra Vikings in the NRC. You can be sure of one thing with Ben Hyne, when he wears a Brumbies jersey, he’ll give everything he has.
