Wests, Vikings make history in lead-up to ACTJRU grand finals |
| The cream of ACT junior rugby will be on show this weekend when more than 50 junior rugby sides contest the 2010 ACT Junior Rugby Union (ACTJRU) grand finals at Canberra Stadium and Nicholls Enclosed Ovals.
The weekend’s finals will culminate in the Under 18 Division 1 final between the Tuggeranong Vikings and Western District Lions at Canberra Stadium.

Gungahlin and Queanbeyan will be vying for the right to play Tuggeranong in next week’s grand final when they meet in Saturday’s Tooheys New John I Dent Cup preliminary final at Viking Park.
Viking Park will host the weekend's Premier and First Division preliminary finals while Bungendore and Booroowa will contest the Second Division grand final at Bungendore's Coop of Pain.
Winger Drew Mitchell and hooker Stephen Moore will make their 50th Test appearances after being named today in the Wallabies side for Saturday’s Mandela Plate Test against South Africa at Bloemfontein.
The players will become the 33rd and 34th Australians to appear in 50 Test matches after both were included in the starting XV, with Moore being promoted into this week’s run on side after he featured at Pretoria as a blood bin replacement.
Tuggeranong No.8 Jesse Parahi has won the 2010 Macdougall Medal awarded at the ACT & Southern NSW Rugby Union’s Macdougall Medal and Presentation Dinner held at the Canberra Southern Cross Club in Woden tonight.
The 21-year-old back-rower finished with 14 points, ahead of Nic White (nine) with Jack Vanderglas, Anthony Dawes, Liam Winton, Rodney Esekia and Jean-Marc Berthalot all a further two points back on seven.
