Snowy Hydro SouthCare Helicopter Base Open Day

This Sunday, March 24 is the annual Snowy Hydro SouthCare Helicopter Base Open Day to be held from 10am – 3pm at the helicopter base on Monaro Highway, Symonston.
The general public will be invited to see the helicopter up close, meet the flight and medical crew, and learn more about Canberra and the region’s local rescue helicopter.
The day will include a range of entertainment and activities for families, children and supporters of the service.
There will be representatives from local emergency services (ACT Ambulance Service, Rural Fire Service, and ACT Police), car displays (Auto Italia), face painting, helicopter joy flights ($40 children, $60 adults) and plenty more.
Parking will be available and directed by volunteer SES. Patrons are asked to refrain from parking on the Monaro Highway to avoid traffic infringements.
The Snowy Hydro SouthCare Rescue Helicopter is the primary service for an area that extends North to Orange, West to Hay, South to the Victorian border and up the NSW East Coast.
