100 years of rugby at RMC
The Royal Military College Rugby Club has celebrated 100 years of rugby in Canberra with the unveiling of a plaque.
The plaque was unveiled 15 minutes before the 3.15pm kick-off of the traditional fixture of RMC v Hawkesbury Agricultural College on Portsea Oval, Saturday last week.
The first match played at RMC, 100 years ago, was between the RMC and Queanbeyan Warrigals. The match was won by the Warrigals, 12-0.
President of the ACT & Southern NSW Rugby Union Geoff Larkham and Colonel John Simeoni, Director of Military Art at RMC, unveiled the plaque in front of both teams and invited guests.
